Teeth can stain and look dull due to many reasons such as aging, genetics, medications, what you eat and drink, injury or smoking. Your dental professional will go over your options and tell you if you are a good candidate for whitening. If you are, there are multiple options to help lighten your teeth, possibly by as much as 5-8 shades!
Before whitening, your dental professional will go over the fact that only natural tooth structure can whiten. This means any old fillings/crowns or any pending treatment that has not been completed yet will not whiten.
It is recommended to complete whitening first so pending treatment can match the shade accurately. Additionally, if previous dental work is noticeable after whitening, we may recommend replacing in order to match your new shade.
