Teeth can have spacing, crowding or position issues due to many reasons. Your doctor will conduct a smile analysis and go over your expectations to let you know if you are a good candidate for clear braces.
Due to the accuracy required for fitting the clear aligners, it is recommended that if you have any major treatment completed prior to starting Invisalign to assure the aligners fit correctly and that there is minimal disruption in the straightening process.
What to Expect
Number of Visits and Time Varies by Case
Pictures will be taken of your smile to start the process and to help show before and after results
Impressions of your upper and lower teeth will be taken and sent to Invisalign
We will review your treatment using special software that shows the amount of time and what to expect from start to completion of treatment
Once we approve the treatment, Invisalign will send aligners and we will start at the next appointment
We will try in the first set of aligners to make sure they fit correctly
The doctor will place attachments called buttons on your teeth which will act as anchors to help move your teeth
The doctor may contour your teeth to make sure the teeth have proper space for movement
To make sure everything runs smoothly, you just now have to wear your aligners and make sure you wear them almost the entire day every day, at least 22 hours a day
Further instructions will be given and you will be provided a set of aligners to wear for 2 weeks a piece
Depending on your treatment plan, you may come back every 6-8 weeks until treatment is complete to assess progress and to make any planned adjustments
Once treatment is complete, we will show you before and after pictures and let you see your beautiful smile
You will then be provided retainers to make sure they stay where we want them
