New Patients
Welcome to the Canvas Dental family!
We are honored that you have chosen Canvas Dental to take care of your dental needs. We know how valuable it is when you take time out of your busy lives to enhance your own well-being. Together, we will work as a team to ensure that your first, and every subsequent visit, will exceed your expectations.
The Canvas Dental New Patient Experience
Pre-Appointment
At Canvas Dental, we value first impressions because it sets our standard and your expectation. We realize it does not start when you come into our office, but when you first visit our website or first talk to a staff member over the phone.
During your initial phone call with Canvas Dental, you will be greeted by a friendly voice. A team member will assist you in handling appointments, insurance or any other questions you may have. We not only care about our patients, but we also care about the environment. We do our part as a paperless office that utilizes tablets and a secure online patient portal so we can reduce our carbon footprint, so bye-bye paper forms!
Once we confirm your initial appointment, we will send a confirmation email with instructions to access a secure portal where all necessary documents are located for you to complete prior to your appointment. The security and privacy of your personal data is very important to us and we have taken every precaution to protect it.
During Your Appointment
You can expect the same welcoming experience as with your phone call and will be greeted with a friendly smile once you step foot in the door.
We do recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to your appointment to make sure all forms are completed and everything is correct.
A staff member will then accompany you to your dedicated room where you can enjoy some of the office amenities.
A lot of times, dental offices will go straight into their exams, but at Canvas Dental we take a different and more personable approach. You came to us for a reason and we respect that you have taken the steps in choosing us as your dental care provider.
Our doctors, hygienists and staff want to listen to you and get to know:
- What your expectations are
- Concerns or questions you may have
- Any fears or anxiety so we can treat you accordingly
- Past dental experiences you may want to discuss
- Anything else on your mind before we even get started
Only after we have accomplished getting to know you and your expectations will we begin our comprehensive examination, which includes:
- Digital x-rays
- Intraoral pictures
- Soft and hard tissue examination
- TMJ evaluation
- Oral cancer screening
- Gum evaluation
- Tooth by tooth assessment
We do our best to make sure our new patients receive a cleaning at their first appointment, but if the doctor or hygienist notice patients with gum disease, we may need to schedule additional appointments to ensure proper treatment.
Upon completion of the the appointment, we will go over our findings and come up with a treatment plan together. We have the latest technology and patient material so we can educate you as well as assure you understand your current dental health prior to accepting or beginning any proposed treatment.
Completion of Your Appointment
When everything is done, you will be accompanied to the front of the office. There, our financial coordinator will go over any proposed treatment, setup appointments and verify payment, insurance coverage and offer additional financing options if needed.
We look forward to building a long-lasting relationship with you! Please contact us at (512) 646 4505 if you have any further questions or comments you may want to discuss. If you’re curious what makes our dental office special, check out our reviews!
